In today’s episode of The Lallantop’s Netanagri, Editor Saurabh Dwivedi talks to Deep Haldar, Executive Editor at India Today Group, about the upcoming West Bengal Elections 2021. With the announcement of BJP’s latest candidates’ list for the 2021 Bengal assembly election, multiple party units across the length and breadth of the state saw rebellion among its own party workers. Malda, Dum Dum in North 24 Parganas, Jalpaiguri, Asansol saw BJP workers protesting and vandalizing their own party offices on Thursday. Dum Dum witnessed an agitation by BJP supporters against the Rajarhat Gopalpur and Dum Dum candidates. BJP supporters set tires on fire and chanted slogans to protest against BJP candidate Samik Bhattacharya, who has been fielded from the Rajarhat Gopalpur seat. The BJP office in Dum Dum was also vandalized allegedly by BJP workers.

In the second part of Netanagri, Editor Saurabh Dwivedi talks to Avinash Kalla (Senior Journalist) and Tribhuvan (Senior Journalist) about the ruckus that broke out in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly over phone tapping issue on March 16. Political circles in Rajasthan were abuzz with rumors of a fight between CM Ashok Gehlot and former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot after the state government admitted that phones were indeed “tapped” during the Gehlot-Pilot political crisis in the state last year. The ‘leaked’ chat records between a Union Minister and Congress leaders in Rajasthan triggered political chaos with accusations of unlawful telephone interception and misusing government machinery.

And in the last segment of Netanagri Saurabh Dwivedi talks to Santosh Singh, Assistant Editor, Indian Express about Bihar Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s misbehavior with the speaker of the Bihar Assembly Vijay Sinha. Samrat Chaudhary’s behavior triggered an uproar in the Bihar assembly after he misbehaved with Vijay Sinha by asking him to remain calm. Right after this, the speaker Vijay Sinha adjourned the session. And Nitish Kumar’s move to merge Upendra Kushwaha party in JDU to regain his LUV-KUSH theory of politics.
