The Lallantop presents to you this film named “Kisaan Anndolan” by Rajat Sain and Roohani. The film looks at the ongoing Indian farmers’ protest.
The farmers have been protesting against the three farm acts passed by the parliament in 2020. The protest took various turns where the farmers were also labelled as Khalistani by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut also got into a war of words on Twitter with Singer/Actor Diljit Dosanjh over her comment on the old woman in a viral video from the protest being the famous Bilquees Dadi from Shaheen Bagh.

Over 500 farmer unions are protesting. Transport unions representing over 14 million truckers, bus drivers, and taxi drivers have come out in support of the farmers, threatening to halt movement of supplies in certain states. Farmers from Punjab, Haryana, UP, Gujarat are participating in the protest. The Centre is making constant efforts to find a solution to the issue. However, protesting farmers do not seem to be in a hurry. Farmers protesting at the Singhu Border are running langars and have claimed that they are carrying ration which can last them up to six months. Amid a lot of things, the protest also saw a demand for Haryana Dy CM Dushyant Chautala’s resignation. We here have tried to bring to you our coverage from the Singhu border which was almost shot over a span of 48 hours.

The Lallantop is closely covering the #FarmersProtest happening in and around Delhi. Farmers unions are demanding from the union government to roll back the newly enacted farm act, 2020, amendments in the electricity act, 2003 and ordinance for air quality management in NCR+ region. Farmers’ unions are claiming that these are anti-people, anti-farming laws which must be repealed immediately. Whereas, Govt- right from the PM Narendra Modi to HM Amit Shah, RM Rajnath Singh and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar are giving assurance to farmers and are stating that ‘these acts are for the betterment of farmers and farming.’
